Emergency Preparedness Resources for Pets

Helping Pets Stay Safe — and Stay Home — When Disaster Strikes

When emergencies happen, pets are among the most vulnerable. Evacuations are chaotic. Shelters turn animals away. Owners arrive unprepared. And too often, the aftermath of a disaster means pets end up in overcrowded shelters — or lost permanently.

At It's DogGone Awesome, we created our Emergency Preparedness resources specifically to change that outcome. Our materials are designed to help pet owners prepare before the emergency, so that when the moment comes, they know exactly what to do — and their pets have a real chance of staying safe and staying home.

Whether you're an emergency management agency, an animal shelter, a veterinary practice, or a community organization, these resources are built to support the work you do every day.
